Meet Our Team:
Read all about our amazing team and their thoughts and experiences with tackling period poverty in Oxford.
Sofia (She/Her)
Co-President and Arts Rep
Hello! I'm Sofia, a third year chemist at Worcester where I used to be the Gender Equality Rep and successfully lobbied college for free period products. I wanted to continue this work at the university level because period poverty is an issue that affects so many people, including here at Oxford where there is currently no standard for period care provision across the colleges and departments
Maia (She/Her)
Co-President & Logistics Officer
Hi, I'm Maia and I'm a 3rd year Chemist at New College! I was the Women*'s Officer at New College last year, and through my role I realised the large discrepancies between colleges and departments in providing access to sanitary supplies.
Phoebe (She/Her)
Treasurer and Communications
Hi! I'm Phoebe, a 3rd year studying English at Exeter College. Last year I was one of the JCR Women*'s Officers at Exeter and my role made me realise that providing free period care provisions should not be the responsibility of a JCR individual with a limited pot of funding, but the responsibility of the larger university we attend, as access to free period products is an essential human right.
Eva (She/Her)
Campaign Strategy & Events
Hey, I'm Eva a second year English student at Oriel. I am the current Women's* Officer at college and feel very strongly about many things, one of which being the provision of free period products university-wide. As well as insufficient access to period products/resources, period poverty also covers the embarrassing lack of education in our society surrounding menstruation.
Caro (She/Her)
College Reps Officer
Heya! I'm Caro, a 3rd year PPEist at Trinity. In my first, I was welfare rep, which at Trinity also means being one of four 'fairies' - condom, flower, cookie, tampon - each responsible for pidging their respective products to students on request. I began lobbying college for a better system of provision, and although I was successful the experience highlighted to me how much there is still to be done!
